This article explains each heading in more detail for the “Add Your Listing Form” when you’re adding a new business listing with Budhub Canada.
After selecting your Listing Price Plan you are directed to the Add Your Listing Form, this is where a little bit of work awaits you. We need details about your business, stuff like what makes your business unique and prominent and some other specifics.
Note: Your business page will not appear in search results until the information has been verified and approved by our moderators. Once it’s approved, you will receive an email informing you that your page has been published.

Business Name & Tagline
To add your City and Province, start by typing your city in the search box. then select your city from the drop-down menu and your Province will automatically populate.
- Business Name – Add your business name here. Warning, if it’s too long, your business name will get cut off on the listings results pages.
- Tagline – This is a great opportunity to briefly add Location and Category descriptions for your business. Plus include anything that makes your business unique. Something like this (Calgary’s upscale cannabis retail storefront, featuring the finest flowers from craft cannabis producers in Alberta.
City, Province
To add your City and Province, start by typing your city in the search box. then select your city from the drop-down menu and your Province will automatically populate.
Search by Google
You can cut and paste your business address to speed things up, then select your address from the results drop-down menu. Or just start typing your address in and results will populate.
Manual Coordinates / Website URL
If you are having troubles finding your location with Google search, you can manually enter your address and coordinates.
- Website URL – Copy and paste your website’s URL in the provided field. Make sure to test it to make sure it works when you preview your work.
Hours of Operation
It’s best to Remove each day that is preset and start from scratch. Start with Monday by selecting it from the drop-down menu and then select the hours, once complete, hit the Green + button to add the next day, and so on…
- The 24 hours check box will grey out the Hour fields and make that day 24 hours automatically.
Category
Choosing the correct business Category is important, it will show more relevant search listings for your business when users are looking for your type of services and products. To select the category for your business, click on the field to access the drop-down menu, then simply select your most appropriate category.
- You can select up to 2 Categories for your business listing. Once you selected your first Category, click on the input field again in any white space to access the drop-down menu, then simply select your second Category to add it.
- Once you select your Category(s), our system will automatically populate the available features that pertain to that Category(s).
- The Features won’t be visible until you select a category first.
Select Your Listing Features
Once you’ve selected the Category(s) for your business listing, you will then be able to select the features for that Category. Features are displayed in your listings business page and are also used for filters when users search our site. If you would like a particular feature that isn’t available, please contact us and suggest a new one for your business. To add features, simply check all that apply for your business.
Select Price Option
Here you have the option to include your price range, or you can choose not to. To select a price range, click on the input field under the title “Select Price Option” to access the drop-down menu. Then fill in the “Price From” and “Price To” fields.
Business Description *
This is where you add more descriptive information about your business. Try and use a good structure in regards to formatting (H1, H2, H3 Paragraph etc.), Google will love you for it. This area also allows you to add some inbound links if you like to your website and paste in and display your fantastic business logo.
How to display your logo in the Description area of your business Listing.
When creating your listing and after you uploaded your images for the photo gallery, you can include your logo in the Business Description area by copying your logo from your website and pasting it in the Description area of your Budhub listing. You can do this for CTA (Call to Action) buttons as well then link the button back to your website.
FAQ Number & Adding Social Media Links
Using the FAQ’s will add useful information about how your business operates and will provide helpful tips for customers who are seeking more information.
How to add FAQ’s to your business page.
- To add FAQ’s to your business page, start by filling in the first input field with your first question.
- Then answer that question in the input field directly below.
- Once you are complete, click on the green + button to add your FAQ to the list.
- Once added, a new “Question 2” green box will populate, click on that new box to complete your second FAQ.
- Repeat the process until you are satisfied.
How to add your social media links to your business page.
- For each social media channel input field, you can simply cut and paste the corresponding URL into the appropriate input field.
- To get the correct URL for your social media accounts, make sure to navigate to your social media home/main page, then copy and paste that URL from your browser’s address field. Let’s use Budhub’s Facebook page as an example: https://www.facebook.com/theChronicBeaver/
Tags or Keywords (Comma Separated)
Tags/Keywords help your business listing be found in search queries within our site. Add a comma separated list of Tags/Keywords related to your business.
Example: If your business is a Dispensary Storefront, some good Tags/Keywords to use would be – medical marijuana, dispensary, dispensaries, medical marijuana card, cannabis
How to enter Tags/Keywords for your business listing.
- Type in each Tag or Keyword into the input field and separate each one with a comma (,) Example: medical marijuana, dispensary, dispensaries
Your Business Video (Optional)
Upload your promotional video by pasting its URL into the input field. See the below example:
- Only one video can be featured here.
Images and Upload Feature Image
This is the section where you create your Image Gallery and set your Feature Image.
The Feature Image is used on:
- Listing result pages
- Search result pages
- Location result pages
- Category pages
- Map view pages
- Preview pop-ups
- Ads (if you purchased Ads) throughout the site.
- Homepage
- Archive pages
The Feature Image is separate and is not used in your photo gallery.
For an impressive rotating Image Gallery, it is recommended that you upload at least 7 images.
Recommended dimensions for images in the Image Gallery.
The Image Gallery is dynamic, meaning that the image sizes vary depending on how many images you upload. For example, if you upload just one image, then that image will stretch across to full width and in effect act as a banner for your business listing page, so it would be a good idea, in this case, to set up an image with dimensions of at least 1500 pixels wide, otherwise your image will look blurry and distorted.
- For multiple images in your Gallery, the recommended dimensions are at least 600 pixels wide by 600 pixels in height (600 x 600).
- If you prefer to have your gallery act as a banner for your business listing (only upload one image), then the recommended dimensions are 1600 pixels wide by 610 pixels in height (1600×610). Make sure to leave plenty of white space around your image and the border.
The Feature Image dimensions.
The Feature Image is used on:
- Listing result pages
- Search result pages
- Location result pages
- Category pages
- Map view pages
- Preview pop-ups
- Ads (if you purchased Ads) throughout the site.
- Homepage
- Archive pages
The Feature Image should be at least 700 pixels wide by 525 pixels in height (700×525), but Gallery Image dimensions as noted above (600 pixels wide by 600 pixels in height) should work for you. You can also display your logo as the Feature Image.
Tips on how to optimize your images.
Optimizing your images is smart and good practice. Optimized images will help your business page load faster and Google will appreciate it when it comes to SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
- Make sure your images are exported to 72 DPI, this will reduce the file sizes and help your business page load faster.
- Always use RGB color profile, not CMYK.
- Images that are pictures with lots of colors should be exported as a JPG.
- Images that are graphics with text and less color should be exported as a PNG for best results, but JPG will work fine as well.
- Naming your image file – This is crucial for image SEO optimization. When naming or renaming your image files for Budhub Canada, please follow this structure: business-name-city-category-short-description (For example, big-leaf-buds-vancouver-dispensary-blueberry-strain). Please always connect each word with a hyphen (-), with no blank spaces. Capitalization is fine.
Accepted file types for images.
- JPG and PNG.
- PDF’s are not supported.
Sign Up/New Account
If you’re creating a new business listing with us and you don’t have a user account yet, you can enter your Email and desired User Name here and a new account will be set up for you automatically when you click on “Save & Preview”.
- Enter your email to signup & receive a notification upon your listing approval. Enter your email address in this input field as part of your registration process. The email address entered is the email we will use to send you notifications and updates.
- Enter a User Name for your new account. Enter any User Name you prefer here, you will use this to log into your account with Budbub Canada.
- Already Have an Account? Select this box to enable you to log into your previously established account with Budhub Canada.
- If you are logged in and create a new business listing, you won’t see the above input fields because you have them set up already.
Save & Preview
Once you’re finished filling in the details about your business, you’re ready to Save & Preview your work. Click on the “Save & Preview” button to view your listing for review. From this page, you will have the option to go back and Edit your listing.
- Once you click on “Save & Preview” your new listing will automatically be saved along with a new User Account for you. You will also be logged into our site so you can access your dashboard to manage your listings and user account.
- You will be notified via email with details about your new listing and user account. It is suggested that you change your User Account password at this point.
- Your new business page listing won’t appear in search results until the information has been verified and approved by our moderators. Once it’s approved, you will receive an email informing you that your page has been published.
